WASHINGTON DC - Fashion brand and retailer Gap Inc has received US government recognition for its work to protect garment workers in its supply chain during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The US Department of State presented it with a 2022 Award for Corporate Excellence (ACE) for Responsible Business Operations, for taking care of people beyond its direct employees.
Gap reportedly negotiated payment of wages owed by its suppliers to their employees to ensure financial security for those most vulnerable to the economic impacts of the pandemic.
