SPRINGFIELD – Textile dye innovator Stony Creek Colors has secured US$4.8 million in funding led by long-standing partners Levi’s and Lewis & Clark AgriFood.
The investment is expected to help the burgeoning business further develop its farming infrastructure and the dye extraction process that helps yield its natural alternatives to conventional synthetic formulas.
Stony Creek extracts its dye from proprietary Indigofera plant varieties grown as a regenerative rotational crop by US farmers. Produced as a 20 per cent concentration in a soluble liquid form, it is said to display similar performance to synthetic dyes.
