SCHATTDORF – The two-year TexCircle recycling project has come to an end, with the consortium of companies – from sorters, spinners and fashion brands, led by Switzerland’s Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts – indicating that it was a success.
The project set out to develop a circular ecosystem through which companies collaborated to collect and repurpose textile waste into virgin-grade new products.
According to a statement from the consortium, project partners helped develop socks, carpets, curtains and other textile-based items using a minimum of 50 per cent recycled content.
