LONDON – Luxury fashion brand Burberry has had its net-zero emissions target approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
The company says it’s the first in the luxury apparel sub-sector to attain verification from the organisation, which assesses the sustainability goals of industry stakeholders in line with climate science and the Paris Climate Agreement.
Caroline Laurie, VP of corporate responsibility at Burberry, said: “Rooting our commitments in science has always been a priority at Burberry, so we can ensure the steps we are taking will have the necessary impact and bring about lasting change.”
