NEW YORK – US footwear brand Lane Eight has partnered with Carbonfact, a company which assesses the environmental impacts of products and industries, to understand the emissions associated with the production of its ‘sustainable’ shoes.
The firm says it uses ‘natural materials’ such as eucalyptus (Tencel) and algae (Bloom), as well as recycled fibres, to construct its products and “combat the usual impact material extraction and processing has for a pair of shoes”.
Lane Eight’s co-founder James Shorrock commented: “Our goal as a brand has always been to create a shoe that is not only easily accessible to an everyday consumer but also disrupts the current industry's standards for what is deemed eco-conscious.”
