GLOBAL – A coalition of social and environmental sustainability non-profits, including Fair Wear and the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI), have developed a new framework in a bid to align the industry in its understanding of what constitutes responsible purchasing practices (RPP).
With contributions from more than 34 organisations, the finalised document outlines best practices in relation to five principles: integration and reporting, equal partnerships, collaborative production planning, fair payment terms, and sustainable costing.
The coalition has established a Learning and Implementation Community (LIC) platform to coincide with the launch of the framework, which brands and retailers can join to demonstrate their commitment to cultivating fair supplier relationships.
