GREEN ISLAND – Fashion companies Reformation and Wolverine Worldwide have been announced as the final members of a Fashion for Good-led cooperative vying to scale the use of vegan leather within the sector.
At the heart of the initiative is Ecovative, a mushroom-based leather innovator said to boast the world’s “most complete mycelium library in the world”.
Gavin McIntyre, Ecovative’s co-founder and chief commercial officer, commented: “The need for more sustainable materials is clear, and we couldn't be more excited to bring them to market in partnership with Wolverine and Reformation.”
