BERKELEY — The Responsible Sourcing Network (RSN) non-profit has released the findings of a pilot project for its flagship initiative to identify and eradicate forced labour from cotton supply chains.
The YESS (Yarn Ethically and Sustainably Sourced) project aims to help track cotton all of the way along supply chains from cotton farms through to the finished fabric to identify modern slavery risks.
The pilot project included virtual training and in-person assessments at textile mills in India, Pakistan and Malaysia to implement a risk-based, due diligence approach to cotton sourcing.
