LONDON – UK waste recycling charity WRAP has announced that 100 brands and retailers have now joined its Textiles 2030 project to slash the environmental impact of the UK's clothing and textiles industry.

New members including eBay, River Island and Oliver Bonas have joined the likes of Boohoo, ASOS, M&S, Next, Primark, John Lewis and Sainsbury’s in what is billed as the world's most ambitious 10-year environmental programme for the sector.

It targets practical interventions along the entire textiles supply chain to halve carbon emissions by 2030, in line with the Paris Agreement, achieve net zero by 2050, reduce the water footprint of new products by 30 per cent, and increase circularity.
