BRUSSELS - Three human rights lawyers have described the European Union's mandatory due diligence proposals as a missed opportunity to improve workers' rights in global supply chains.
The proposed legislation, which would make companies reponsible for human rights and environmental issues in their global value chains, was unveiled last month by the European Commission.
Three leading lawyers - Jeffrey Vogt, Ruwan Subasinghe and Paapa Danquah - have now given their verdict in a blog on the Opinio Juris international law platform.
