BERLIN - European online retailer Zalando has published its second sustainability progress report in which it reveals that progress on reducing its impact on climate change has been hampered by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The company has pledged to reduce emissions from its own operations by 80 per cent by the year 2025 - but the report reveals that progress in 2021 was stuck on 64 per cent, the same as the previous year.
A Zalando spokeswoman told Ecotextile News: "Our emissions reduction efforts were hampered by our health and safety response to the pandemic. During this time, we continued to circulate 100 per cent fresh air to ensure the safety of our employees and partners following the health recommendations.
