STIRLING - Householders are being urged to think more about what they put in their bins after a report showed that textiles made up just four per cent of waste by weight but accounted for nearly a third of carbon impact.
The Zero Waste Scotland (ZWS) initiative says that its latest Carbon Metric report, which breaks down the types of household waste, shows that ‘not all waste is equal’.
The Scottish Carbon Metric report was developed by ZWS, in collaboration with the Scottish Government, to go beyond the traditional method of measuring the impact of waste by weight.
