GENEVA — An International Labour Organization (ILO) report which considers the work conditions of Uyghur Muslims in the Xinjiang region of China notes signs of "coercive measures" indicative of forced labour.
The 870-page annual report from an ILO committee of experts is aimed at helping countries around the world uphold international labour standards on improving workplace and job conditions.
One of the areas highlighted for attention is the alleged use of forced labour by incarcerated Uyghur Muslims in the Xinjiang region which supplies a fifth of the world's cotton.
