NEW YORK – Human rights non-profit Social Accountability International (SAI) will pilot a new blockchain-enabled digital platform designed to improve labour practices within the apparel manufacturing sector.
Created with technology partner Vertru, the platform will first be offered to suppliers in Bangladesh and India, giving them the tools to detail their capacities and business forecasts so that they can best manage their operations.
“This platform encourages increased transparency, responsible sub-contracting and supplier control over their available capacity,” said Stephanie Wilson, associate director of innovation and partnerships at SAI.
