PHNOM PENH – Cambodia will today welcome new shipments of textiles, buttons and zips from China following a month of uncertainty.
Last month the country’s Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training warned that as many as 10 per cent of the country’s garment manufacturing sites could be temporarily forced to close due to material shortages in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, which sent China into lockdown.
Though a growing number of factories were expected to feel these strains throughout this month, a decline in cases in China has enabled vendors to reopen business and ease the pressure on importing nations.
