TOKYO – Japanese manufacturer Teijin has strengthened its 2030 carbon emissions target and will now work to reduce 30 per cent of CO2 in its supply chain – up from 20 per cent – by the end of the decade.
The target relates to the firm’s Scope 1 and 2 targets specifically, while Teijin hopes to eliminate 15 per cent of the Scope 3 emissions that stem from supply chain activities such as material sourcing and transport, amongst other things.
The Tokyo-based business has previously come out in support of calls for more ambitious environmental targets across Japan.
