DHAKA - The new owners of Edinburgh Woollen Mill (EWM) have reportedly agreed to buy stock that is still sitting in factories in Bangladesh after the retailer halted orders during the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic last year.
The company has been in dispute with the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) which at one point accused it of owing garment factory owners £27 million.
However, EWM group chairman John Herring has now confirmed that the new owners have agreed to buy stock still sitting in Bangladeshi factories to resolve the dispute, according to Bangladeshi newspapers.
