CALIFORNIA – US footwear brand Vans has outlined several new sustainability targets which will see it increase its uptake of responsibly sourced materials, reduce its carbon emissions and eradicate plastics from its supply chain.
The VF Corp company will work with innovators and non-profits across the industry to help realise its ambitions, which it says will support UN Sustainable Development Goal 12 of ensuring responsible consumption and production patterns.
Kim Matsoukas, senior manager of sustainability at Vans, said: “We believe that sustainability starts with all of us, but can only be accomplished in partnership. We are leveraging our commitment to creativity to seek new solutions that reimagine the lifecycle of our products and protect the environment for future generations.”
