SAN FRANCISCO – Sustainable footwear brand Allbirds has set itself a target of using only wool that is regeneratively farmed by the middle of the current decade.
The company will launch its first products made with more sustainably-farmed fibre within the next year, and will work with suppliers to meet its overall goal by 2025.
The commitment reflects fashion’s mounting interest in regenerative agriculture to restore biodiversity and soil health, allowing more carbon to be locked into the soil and vegetation.
