BEAVERTON - Sportswear giant Nike has launched a new service in which returned shoes can be refurbished and resold, thereby extending their lifespan, to reduce waste.
Initially available at 15 stores in the US, the service, called 'Nike Refurbished', will be rolled out to other locations over the coming months.
Customers can return Nike shoes within 60 days of purchase and have their footwear sent to a specialist team which inspects and grades the shoes before refurbishing them by hand.
