LEIDEN - Swedish homeware giant IKEA has published its 2020 sustainability report in which it reveals it has increased its use of recycled polyester from 59 to 83 per cent of all textile products.
The 'IKEA Sustainability Report FY20' also says the company has assessed more than 9,500 products for circular capabilities, taken action in its value chain to mitigate climate change and achieved its 2020 forestry goals.
The company's actions to increase its use of recycled polyester have proved so successful that this is now being expanded to include all of the retail giant's furniture, as well as its textile products.
