LEICESTER - Workers' rights campaigners claim they have "mounting evidence" that fast fashion brand Boohoo is looking to abandon suppliers in Leicester and replace them with factories in Pakistan.

Boohoo, which denies the claims, has been under increasing pressure over its UK supply chain following claims that its supplier factories in Leicester were paying workers less than half the minimum wage and failing to implement COVID-19 precautions.

The Labour Behind the Label non-profit claims that Boohoo executive chairman Mahmud Kamani recently flew out selected Leicester suppliers to Dubai to discuss production with them and to take advice on brokering new suppliers in Pakistan.
