SAN FRANCISCO – Workers’ rights organisation Remake has outlined an ambitious new initiative which expands on the success of its #PayUp campaign – which has to date forced U-turns on retracted payments to the tune of US$22bn globally – and urges fashion’s leading brands and retailers to: keep workers safe, go transparent and end starvation wages within the supply chain, amongst other things.

The new ‘PayUp Fashion’ campaign – whilst still maintaining the long-standing message that has proven successful in calling on companies to pay their suppliers – looks beyond the current complexities brought on by COVID-19 and will address how brands and factories engage going forward.

In this effort, Remake has forged a coalition with like-minded organisations including the Garment Worker Center, Extinction Rebellion, the Union of Concerned Researchers in Fashion (UCRF) and the Awaj Foundation.
