LONDON - Retailers and consumers are being urged by campaigners for greater sustainability in the fashion industry to take a stand against over consumption by boycotting Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
The Fashion Revolution movement is behind one of a number of campaigns being staged against the pre-Christmas sales which reportedly sparked a £1.49 billion (US$1.92 billion) shopping spree in the UK alone last year.
It is calling on retailers to abstain from discounts between Black Friday and Cyber Monday (29th November – 2nd December), and on consumers not to take advantage of the discounts that are available.
