GERSTHOFEN – German outerwear brand Deuter is this week launching a Green Friday initiative through which 10 per cent of online sales revenues will be channelled into a European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) project.
In the countdown to Black Friday – when consumer goods’ industries slash their prices, encouraging shoppers to overindulge – Deuter is setting a new precedent, incentivising its customers to support environmental initiatives through their purchases.
“Unfortunately, on Black Friday, far too little thought is given to the environment, animals and people. Which is why businesses are increasingly adopting Green Friday schemes as a more responsible alternative to Black Friday. These events champion less consumption and a more conscientious, sustainable approach to shopping,” the company said.
