BERLIN - Online retailer Zalando says a pilot scheme which allows customers to pick-up packages and drop-off returns with a neighbour is reducing the environmental impact of deliveries.
The 'Din Nabo' (Your Neighbour) scheme, which is currently being trialled in Denmark, is aimed both at improving convenience for customers and at making deliveries more sustainable.
The scheme, which has been deemed "excellent" by 95 per cent of customers, reduces the environmental impact of the "last mile" of delivery routes by calling at fewer addresses.
