ESPOO – A two-year R&D project in Finland to identify and compare textile recycling methods and technologies will be extended by a further two years as researchers look to shift the focus away from recycling towards commercialising new business models for a ‘circular’ textile economy.
This follows on from another recent announcement from VTT (the Technical Research Centre of Finland), in which in reported receiving a funding boost to improve wood-to-textile value chains, enabling increased production of man-made cellulose fibres.
