PHILADELPHIA — Fashion retailer Urban Outfitters has announced that Nuuly, a subscription-based rental service for women’s apparel, will launch this summer.
The platform will initially offer subscribers the chance to rent six items per month, with the company claiming this model could offer users up to US$800 worth of apparel for around a tenth of the retail price.
Nuuly will stock more than 1,000 styles to begin with, but plans to substantially scale this up with the addition of over 100 new styles per week — and to triple the available inventory by the end of the year.
