DHAKA - Hopes are high that protests which have been disrupting Bangladesh's garment industry will ease following talks between the country's interim government, factory owners and workers' representatives.

Factories which have been closed because of the unrest were expected to reopen today after the negotiations led to an agreement on most of the demands of the protesting garment workers.
