CAMBRIDGE - University of Cambridge spin-out Evoralis has raised £2.5 million ($3.3m) in a seed funding round to develop its plastic-depolymerising enzymes which it claims are capable of breaking down even mixed and blended fibres.

Evoralis, a spin-out from the university's Hollfelder Lab, uses an "ultrahigh-throughput" screening platform, based on microfluidics, which is claimed to accelerate enzyme screening by up to 1,000 times compared to traditional methods.
