MÜNSTER - German startup Eeden, which has developed a chemical process that recovers cellulose from cotton and transforms polyester into its basic building blocks, is heading up a new recycling project that will target post-consumer textile waste.
The recycling specialist has partnered with the Center Textile Logistics (CTL) at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences and the Fraunhofer IML, and Germany-based textile testing organisation Hohenstein Innovations, to further develop its fibre-to-fibre recycling process so that it can efficiently process textile waste from laundry operations.
