STUTTGART - The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) has partially suspended Intertek Testing Services as an approved certification body, amid concerns over what it calls “serious lapses” in their internal systems.
The suspension relates to specific areas of Intertek’s operations and prohibits the certification body from issuing transaction certificates (TC) for specific products. Other TCs are still permitted to be issued with strict risk assessment at their end, Global Standard, the NGO behind the GOTS standard, said.
