WASHINGTON DC - More than 95% of US companies have started using technology and verification tools to check for forced labour risks in their supply chains since the introduction of the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA), according to the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
In a post on its website, DHS lists some of the progress it has made since UFLPA, which bans imports from the Xinjiang region of China on the presumption they are made with forced labour unless it can be proved otherwise, came into effect in June 2022.
