BRUSSELS – The Dutch government and EU member states France, the Czech Republic, and Ireland recently presented new EU proposals to decarbonise the chemical sector by replacing fossil fuel-derived chemistry with biomass, CO2, and recycled materials.

This move raised a few eyebrows in the textile dyeing and finishing sector, although suppliers and formulators of textile chemicals located in and around Europe are already anticipating change and developing new technologies.
