CANBERRA - People in Australia buy more new clothes than those in any other country, according to a new report which proposes a France-style fast fashion tax to reduce consumption.

The study, from the Australia Institute think tank, says the nation has surpassed the US as the world’s biggest consumer of textiles per capita.
