LONDON - Exports of secondhand clothing from western countries to five impoverished African nations create badly needed jobs and provide vital revenue streams for governments, according to a new study.

Research by sustainable finance specialist Joseph Feyertag found that each tonne of used clothing imported into Angola, Guinea-Bissau, Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia created an average of 6.5 jobs.
