BRUSSELS - The destruction of unsold textile products will be banned throughout the European Union (EU) following final approval of the EU's new 'ecodesign' regulation which sets sustainability requirements for products.

The European Council this week adopted the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) which will require all products to be made to last longer and be easier to repair, upgrade and recycle.
