WASHINGTON DC - The American Circular Textiles (ACT) coalition has sent a letter to the Biden administration calling for circular textiles to be included within its sustainable product and procurement strategy.
ACT, whose members include ThredUp, The RealReal, Rent The Runway, H&M and Reformation, works to promote circularity in the textile industry to drive sustainable job growth and reduce the amount of waste going to landfill.
The proposed sustainable products and services procurement rule, recently unveiled as part of President Biden’s Investing in America Agenda, aims to achieve net-zero emissions from federal procurement by 2050.
