LONDON - The Better Cotton initiative has released its annual report for the 2022-23 harvest in which it claims it accounted for 22% of global cotton production.
In the 2022-23 cotton season, the Better Cotton programme reached more than 2.8 million cotton farmers in 22 countries, according to the report.
They included 2.2 million licensed farmers who grew 5.4 million tonnes of Better Cotton – 22% of global production and a 15% production increase on the previous season.
