WASHINGTON DC - The International Cotton Advisory Committee has released the first in a new series of reports aimed at highlighting the performance of the 'speciality cotton' sector, much of which falls under programmes encouraging ethical and sustainable production processes.
Under the ICAC's definition, speciality cotton refers to any cotton that is notable in some way such as long staple (LS) or extra-long staple (ELS), or falls under a specific identity programme such as Better Cotton, Responsible Brazilian Cotton (ABR), Cotton made in Africa or myBMP, the Australian cotton industry's cotton certification program.
