LONDON - Calls for retailers to work with their supply chain partners to improve traceability and environmental impacts are being made by think-tank Planet Tracker in its latest report.
After analysing some 3,900 companies in the textile industry, the report, ‘Following the thread’, finds a “significant discrepancy between the distribution of negative environmental impacts and of capital within the supply chain”.
The think tank claims that while sales, profits and capital are evident within the the fashion brands and retailers, the majority of the negative environmental impact occurs in the supply chain.
