DANVILLE - Textile recycling company Circ has partnered up with textiles manufacturer Acegreen to manufacture filament lyocell partly from cotton pulp reclaimed from polycotton textile waste.
Circ's patented 'hydrothermal' process uses water as a solvent and claims to be unique in being capable of separating and recovering blended textile waste made up of polyester and cotton.
Acegreen, a subsidiary of Taiwan-based Acelon Chemicals & Fiber Corporation, will use Circ's cotton pulp to manufacture filament lyocell. The two companies will also collaborate on research and development projects.
