BERGAMO – A new pilot project claims to have successfully produced new garments from recycled polyester recovered from post-consumer textile waste.
Italian synthetic fibre producer Radici Group teamed up with Austrian textile recycling machinery company Pure Loop and European sportswear manufacturer Sportstex for the initiative.
Textile-to-textile recycling is still limited, and most of it currently makes use of post-production, pre-consumer waste rather than used garments.
