BRUSSELS - The European Parliament has comprehensively backed proposals to restrict companies from greenwashing and encourage them to make more durable and sustainable products.
By 544 votes to 18, and 17 abstentions, a plenary session of the parliament today approved the proposed Directive on Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition.
Part of the European Union's circular economy package, along with the EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles, it paves the way for the recently announced Green Claims Directive.
