YANGON - Uniqlo owner Fast Retailing has reportedly become the latest fashion company to withdraw from sourcing in Myanmar because of human rights concerns following the military coup.
The Japanese company has removed suppliers in that country from its list of garment and processing factories, according to a report in Japan's leading financial newspaper Nikkei Asia.
Fast Retailing previously sourced jackets and shirts for GU, another of its brands, but that relationship will reportedly end with products for the 2023 fall-winter season.
