SYDNEY - Key organisations in the Australian cotton industry are working together on a strategic roadmap designed to ensure that the country's exports are not impacted by new due diligence legislation in Europe and the US.
Cotton Australia, Australian Cotton Shippers Association (ACSA) and Cotton Research and Development Corporation (CRDC) are collaborating on the 'Australian Cotton Strategic Roadmap' which they hope will keep the industry competitive.
They fear new and proposed legislation, such as the European Union's (EU) Directive on Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence and the New York Fashion Act, could limit Australian exports to these key markets.
