LONDON - The Ethical Fashion Group (EFG) is entering into a partnership with waste plastic-to-hydrogen company Hydrogen Utopic International (HUI) in a bid to turn fashion waste into carbon-free fuels.
EFG, the body co-founded by former British Fashion Council chairman Harold Tillman, and HUI aim to allow clothing manufacturers, brands and retailers to reduce the impact of products made partly or wholly with sythetic textiles such as polyester and nylon.
“The technology developed by Hydrogen Utopia means that, for the first time ever, the fashion industry can be part of the solution to the epidemic of plastic pollution facing the planet, rather than part of the problem," said Tillman.
