SAN FRANCISCO – The Apparel Impact Institute (Aii) will run a webinar this week to show how innovators can use its Climate Solutions Portfolio (CSP) to help them fund new solutions that contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions in textile supply chains.
The idea is to use the data backed CSP tool to deploy grants from the Aii Fashion Climate Fund, which is designed to raise US$250 million to de-risk and accelerate proven decarbonisation solutions, unlock up to US$2 billion of capital, and help to halve carbon emissions in the textile sector by 2030.
It’s expected that starting in June 2023, a slate of projects from the Climate Solutions Portfolio will begin to receive grants estimated to range from US$50K – US$250K per year, and the Aii is now inviting all organisations, technologies, ventures, and solutions that advance decarbonisation to apply for this funding.
Hosted by the Aii, the webinar will take place on Friday, February 24th and features a panel of Aii speakers, including, Kurt Kipka, Linda Greer, Phil Patterson, and Beth Jensen.
Phil Patterson notes: “As an industry, we need solutions that achieve significant reductions of GHG emissions in the short term via the use of current best available technology and we also need innovative solutions that deliver step change in energy use or GHG emissions for the medium and long term. The Aii CSP aims to support the most effective solutions rather than those that garner the most column inches. This webinar will set out the criteria by which existing solutions and new innovations are appraised and how innovators and solution providers can get funding to further scale their products or, in the case of newer innovations, bring them to market.”
Attendees will learn more about the CSP, the application process and meet the team who will be evaluating the applications, which are now open to review – but will close on March 31st 2023.
