GLOBAL - Fashion giants Fast Retailing, H&M and Inditex are among some of the world’s biggest corporations who are accused of "hiding climate inaction behind a fig leaf of net zero plans" in a new report.
A total of 24 major corporations are assessed in the 2023 edition of the Corporate Climate Responsibility Monitor (CCRM) - a joint initiative from the NewClimate Institute and Carbon Market Watch.
The report claims the companies account for four per cent of global emissions, have a combined revenue of over €3 trillion (US$3.2m) and claim to be climate leaders through their association with the UN-backed Race to Zero campaign.
