WASHINGTON DC - The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has extended a period of public consultation on a planned update to its official guidelines to help companies avoid accusations of greenwashing.
The FTC's deadline for comments on the updated version of its Green Guides for the Use of Environmental Marketing Claims was 21st February but this has now been extended for another 60 days to 24th April.
The independent government agency, which works to promote competition and protect and educate consumers, had announced it was opening public consultation on the proposed changes in December.
